Our site in located in Crouch Lane, Borough Green and was originally one large area of land consisting of 27 acres, named Black Horse Farm. The land was later split into three plots and sold off separately. Plot 2 was acquired in 2004 and was solely owned for the purpose of family equestrian use, now converted with a change of use to an outdoor learning provision. The area of Borough Green is beautifully rural, based in the Countryside and is within an area of ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’.
Our success to date relies heavily on the ‘Countryside surroundings’, we are so lucky to be set within. The rural appearance and outdoor potential, forms a high percentage of our provision which offers land-based experiences and activities, therapeutic support and life skills for, but not limited to, learning disabilities and ASC, as well as concentrating on a unique outdoor learning environment which relies on working with nature.
Our setting is ‘unique’ and a significant growing requirement for Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the surrounding areas of Kent. Offering over 7 acres of grounds and 1.5 acres of woodlands, all beautifully picturesque and perfect for forestry schooling, adventurous activities and natural exploration. Black Horse Farm is set within an ideal location for the community and offers ideal community links such as (local shops/church/markets) etc, all forming part of the life skill opportunities we incorporate to our services.
Our tranquil site consists of an indoor hub and converted stables for alternative indoor activities. We have vast outdoors areas for outdoor play and these areas are always progressing into further unique learning environments, with an ever developing sensory garden and growing plans for a wildlife garden and an adventure activities area.
Other facilities include; Sensory Room, Art & Craft Hub, Well-being Hub, Animal Area, Learning Hub and rest area with Kitchen and toilet facilities.
